Common Questions

Conveyancing FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most often. Conveyancing doesn't have to be complicated - we are here to help make the process clear.

Do I need a conveyancer or a solicitor?

A conveyancer cannot advise you on legal risk or step in if a dispute arises. We are solicitors, so that vital legal protection is built in from the start.

What is a Section 32?

It is a document a seller must legally give a buyer before signing, covering zoning, mortgages, and outgoings. Getting it right protects both sides.

How long does settlement take?

Usually 30, 60, or 90 days from the contract date in Victoria, though it is negotiable. We track every date to ensure nothing slips.

What are disbursements?

These are third-party costs that come with the process, such as title searches and council certificates. You will get an itemised invoice with nothing hidden.

What happens on settlement day?

Both banks and both legal teams meet electronically through PEXA to exchange funds and transfer titles. You do not need to be anywhere for it.
